I am proud to introduce The RiverClub.

The RiverClub is a new 180 acre private development along the Catawba River eight miles northwest of Morganton, North Carolina.

The property is located just five miles downstream from Lake James where the river makes a sweeping turn from due north to due south. Because Lake James is fed primarily by the Catawba and Linville rivers which begin on the peaks of the Blue Ridge Mountains, its waters are consistently ranked as some of the purest in the southeast. In fact, so clean and pure are these waters that the section of the Catawba River which flows for nearly two miles through The RiverClub was recently awarded status and protection afforded only to Trophy Trout Waters.

While the Catawba is the undeniable cornerstone of The RiverClub, this special property also directly faces the monuments of the Blue Ridge Mountains: Grandfather Mountain, Table Rock and Hawksbill Mountain. The views are literally breathtaking.

We plan for only thirty-five home sites on this land. Some sites overlook the river; some provide awesome views of the mountains; some include both. A 16 stall equestrian stable with planned amenities consistent with the demands of today’s equestrians has been completed.

While the equestrian element of the property is optional, the tranquility of The RiverClub is not; it is indeed a very special place.

My cousin, Robert Collett, and I have thoughtfully developed special properties for eight years including Grandmother Mountain, The Farm at Banner Elk and Big Rough Knob. We have conserved over fifty percent of the acreage through dispersal to conservation entities. We take custodianship of land very seriously.

The RiverClub is our first development in Burke County, our family’s home for three generations. Be certain, we will take great care of this very special land.

While our website will give you glimpses of The RiverClub, only a visit will give you “the feel”. The RiverClub is a private, gated community therefore an appointment is necessary for access. We are currently accepting fully refundable reservation agreements. Purchase and closing contracts will be executed in the third quarter of 2007.
